Common Questions
The questions owners ask us most.
Direct answers on selling, the deal, and what happens after close — the same way we'd answer them across the table.
For owners
It starts with a conversation — no broker required. Reach out through our contact page or email us directly, and a member of our team will get back to you within 48 hours. We take time to understand you and the business before anything formal happens. Get in touch →
No. We buy directly from owners — no listing, no auction, no broker in the middle. That saves you the broker's commission, which typically runs 8–10% of the sale price, and keeps the process private and fast.
Faster than a brokered sale. It moves from a first conversation, to a light financial review, to a letter of intent, to diligence and close — typically a matter of weeks at each stage, rather than the six-plus months a broker process often runs.
We look at more than a single multiple — recurring revenue, customer concentration, how much the business depends on you, and the levers we can pull to grow it after close. We'll walk you through how we arrived at a number.
Only if you want to. Some owners stay on through a transition to keep building; others prefer a clean exit. We structure the deal around the role you do — or don't — want afterward, often with options like an earnout or equity rollover.
Yes. Because we deal with you directly instead of shopping the business around, your information stays between us — and we're glad to sign a mutual NDA before reviewing anything sensitive.
After the sale
They stay. We're buying the business because it works — and your people are a big part of why. We treat the transition as a partnership, not a clean-out.
We protect the relationships you've built. Continuity matters — for your clients and for the value of the business — so we keep service and relationships steady through the transition.
Yes. We don't fold the businesses we buy into someone else's brand. Your name and reputation are part of what you built, and they stay intact.
We stay involved. Beyond capital, we bring go-to-market and sales infrastructure plus hands-on operating support to grow the business — working alongside your team, not over it.
No — it's a partnership. You're handing the business to people who intend to keep building it, and we work closely with you and your team to make the handover smooth.
For investors
Sometimes. We structure co-investment on a deal-by-deal basis — there's no committed, blind-pool fund. Investors review each opportunity individually and decide whether to take part.
A search fund is a structure in which an investor or operator raises capital to find, acquire, and then operate a single business. It's one of the models we use to acquire and build companies.
Minimums and terms vary by deal, and specifics are shared privately with prospective co-investors. We don't make return promises — like any investment, these carry risk, and past results don't guarantee future ones.
de Anda Capital is a family office and does not offer investment advisory services to the public. Any co-investment opportunities are private and offered only to qualified parties.
About de Anda
A San Francisco family office that acquires and builds owner-operated businesses for the long term. We invest our own capital, take an active role, and hold for as long as it makes sense.
No. A private-equity fund raises money from outside investors and usually has to sell within three to five years. We're a family office investing permanent capital — so we can move quickly, hold for the long term, and decide based on the business, not a fund's clock.
Five: property management, payroll & payments, manufacturing, lending & financing, and decarbonization. We look for durable, cash-generative, owner-operated businesses in those areas.
San Francisco, California — and we work with owners across the country.
